Eleven year-old Arlo Skinner has had an unsettled life ever since his dad went missing in London. He has tried to adjust to a new life in a Cornish village since moving there with his mum, but he finds it hard to make friends and to trust people.

At the same time, new revelations about his family start to rise to the surface, and Arlo fears a family secret will ruin the new start he is finally beginning to embrace.
