Coral Rumble

Coral Rumble is a much-loved, award-winning poet who specialises in writing and performing for children. She also performs and gives workshops in schools and at art centres, museums, bookshops, libraries, theatres and festivals.
Coral has contributed to around 150 poetry anthologies for children and has five solo collections of poetry: Riding a Lion, Things That Should Be In a Poem, Creatures, Teachers and Family Features, Breaking the Rules, My Teacher's as Wild as a Bison, and the verse novel Little Light.
Coral was featured in Favourite Poets published by Hodder Children's books. Her verse novel Little Light was shortlisted for the UKLA (UK Literary Association) Book Award 2023 and was a National Poetry Day Selection 2021, while Things That Should Be In a Poem was shortlisted for the Spark School Book Award 2022/2023.
Coral’s first novel, Jakub’s Otter (2024), won the Spark! School Book Award 2024-25. It was also shortlisted for the School Reading List Children’s Books of the Year 2024, longlisted for the UKLA Book Award 2026, and was a Summer Reading Challenge 2025 selection and a Read for Empathy selection in 2026.
