Zaro Weil's 'Cherry Moon' shortlisted for CLPE Award 2020

We’re thrilled to annouced that Zaro Weil’s poetry collection, Cherry Moon, has been shortlisted for the CLPE Award 2020!

This dazzling collection, stunningly illustrated by Junli Song, is like a love song to the sheer joy and exuberance of the natural world. Dancing within its pages are parades of beast-doodles, talking blossoms, musical birds, and step by step intsructions on how to catch the moon.

Zaro says, “Writing about nature is the most exciting thing I can do as a children’s poet. Childhood is about growing and discovering who we are, and both poetry and nature speak directly to children. What’s more, both have a role to play in helping children to come to terms with the ups and downs of being human and living in our world. Nature is what we are, and the child's first task is to grow into who they are.”

Troika commercial director and editor Roy Johnson says, “Cherry Moon was a real labour of love for everyone involved in its creation and production. The whole team is absolutely thrilled to be recognised by the CLPE is this way. It’s such an important organisation and award, and we couldn’t be more delighted.”
