Scoular Anderson

Scoular Anderson is a children’s author and illustrator who has written more than 70 books and illustrated upwards of 100 others.
He was born in Sunderland and raised in Argyll in Scotland. His full name is Tom Scoular Anderson but his mother decided she preferred to call him Scoular (which is actually a surname)
Scoular studied at the Glasgow School of Art with the intention of becoming a book illustrator. But it took a while before his first book was published and so in the meantime he worked as a newspaper seller in London and later as an illustrator for London University. Scoular then returned to Scotland in 1976, where he taught art at Cumbernauld High School for a number of years. He now lives back in in Argyll, where he continues to write and illustrate.
