Adria Meserve grew up in New England, USA and has always loved books. She moved to North Yorkshire, UK at the age of twelve.
After studying art history at the Courtauld Institute, Adria travelled to India. Inspired by the wonderful and strange things she saw there, she realized she wanted to draw and paint for a living. She worked in an art gallery and then as an art teacher, and began to write and illustrate books. Adria then gained her MA in Illustration from Brighton University. Smog the City Dog was her first book.
